Petitions received

Three petitions with a total of 108 signatures on matters relating to the Peninsula have been received by Gosford Council.

A petition with 46 signatures from residents of Woy Woy was received by council about a proposed allocation of commercial moorings in the Woy Woy channel for a hire-boat operation and about the condition of the Brick Wharf Rd Reserve.

The petitioners said the reserve was in "a very bad state of repair caused by the constant intrusion of motor vehicles and general lack of maintenance over the years".

The petitioners asked council to oppose the installation of moorings and to upgrade and repair the reserve.

Meanwhile, Member for Peats, Ms Marie Andrews, sent council a petition on behalf of 35 residents of Cogra Rd in Woy Woy regarding the need for stormwater drainage on the road.

The petitioners said that when council resurfaced the road, it left the road surface higher than the side of the road and when it rained residents' properties were flooded.

A further petition from 27 St Huberts Island residents objecting to the erection of a colourbond fence along a waterfront boundary was also sent to council.
