Support for carers

Woy Woy Hospital’s social work department has formed a support group for people who are responsible for providing constant care or supervision to an elderly spouse, relative or friend.

The new support group will meet on the fourth Monday of each month, from 10am to 11.30am, in the Health Services building at Woy Woy Hospital.

Sandra Hall of the hospital’s Social Work Department said that the meetings would offer collective support to carers, allowing them to share "survival techniques", access resources and "have a cuppa" with others who understood their needs.

A donation of 50 cents each month from those in the group will cover the cost of morning tea.
