New challenges at senior's school
The new year provides new challenges for the Peninsula's School for Seniors Group.
Based at the Community Centre, the group describes itself as "a leisure, learning, recreation, friendship and support group for over 45s".
The group has been in operation for over 10 years.
They meet from Tuesday to Friday and cover numerous leisure activities including discussion groups, oil painting, multi-craft and needlework, bush walking, bus trips, and starting on March 15 from 2pm to 3.30pm, a regular local history class.
According to Rhonda Mitchell, SFS President: "All our activities are organised by the group, for the group.
"We see School for Seniors as an opportunity for all to join in and learn a new skill or share your skills.
"If you are not sure what activity you would like to try come along to our 'Have a Chat meeting' on a Tuesday morning at 10 am.
"At this meeting we decide on further courses we may run plus we organise any social outings."
