Patonga gets pentanque
NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation, Mr John Watkins and Member for Peats, Ms Marie Andrews, have announced a funding allocation to construct two pentanque courts at Patonga.
The courts will be built with the $1256 funding for the Eve Williamson Memorial Oval.
Pentanque is a bowls game similar to bocce and is also known as jeu de boules.
Mr Watkins said the Capital Assistance Program was one of the most important funding programs for sport in the state.
"The State Government's aim is to work in partnership with sporting groups and local government to make sure people of New South Wales have increasing opportunities to participate in their chosen sport or recreational activity," he said.
"The Government's support for the development of these facilities, continues our commitment to the encouragement of a healthy lifestyle."
