Peninsula sports get grants
Three Peninsula sporting bodies have received funding as part of Council's capital improvement grant program.
Woy Woy District Cricket Club will receive $7057, Woy Woy Peninsula Little Athletics gets $2094 and Patonga Tennis Association, $465.
The program provides financial assistance on a dollar for dollar basis to allow the sporting community to meet their needs.
The cricket club will use the funding to install practice nets, the athletics club for a ride on mower and a discus and shot-put circle upgrade and the tennis association for a gate.
Council considered 21 applicants with seven gaining grants through a priority ranking.
The grant is handed out in September each year and totals $20,000.
Last year's requests totalled $99,122.
Next year, the funding will double to $40,000.
