Local Government web page gives important information
Gosford Council has a home page that gives Peninsula residents plenty of information about the council and other community activities.
The site has that professional look and feel and most pages are down-loaded quickly to the desktop.
For full access to the many links on the home page, active scripting must be enabled in the browser.
Internal links provide viewers with a wide selection of pages ranging from important telephone numbers that cover most council activities, through to a what's happening page.
The 'What's Happening' guide provides details of activities in our community through to January 2001.
The Council Agenda frame allows users to down-load the agenda papers in PDF format, which could be a handy feature for those of us who are unable to access the local libraries during business hours.
A word of warning: Downloading the January meeting would require at least 10 files.
As with many websites, pages often become outdated and the 'Meet Your Council' page provides an example where it states that the next general election is due in September 1999, yet provides the details of the current councillors.
Council provides some external links mainly to other local government sites and some Central Coast community sites.
I rate the site seven out of 10.
