Rotary club explores potential of 'tiny homes village'

Members of the executive of the Rotary Club of Brisbane Water are exploring the potential of "a tiny homes village for displaced older women fleeing domestic violence".

The club's community service director Ms Jennifer Brown and secretary Ms Di Bartok recently visited a Tiny Homes Expo in Maitland.

"We were impressed by many of the designs of comfortable tiny homes that would suit single-person living, without compromising on style," Ms Bartok said.

"Jennifer, who is the driver of this project, was especially pleased with the flexibility of some of the designs and a willingness of those we spoke to in working to people's budgets.

"We feel that, when we get to the stage of seeking tiny homes, after securing land, we will be able to find the people to do the job."
