Pharmacy assistant celebrates 30 years of service

A Umina pharmacy has celebrated 30 years of service of one of its pharmacy assistants with a visit from Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid.

Ms Di Matthews had a visit from Dr Reid at Chemist Outlet Umina last week along with a number of customers also present to celebrate the milestone.

Ms Matthews has been with the business through a change of ownership and a relocation.

When she started in the 1990s, it was a Soul Pattison chemist, run by Mr Bruce Bagley.

She had worked in pharmacies for more than 15 years prior to that.

Among her current customers are customers who she first met as children, who now bring in their own children.

"It was very clear by the number of locals who were present just how special and helpful you are," Dr Reid told Ms Matthews.

"You take the time and value everyone.

"Our community is a better place with people like you in it."

She is pictured on the day with her husband and Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid.
