Two-storey extension proposed
Central Coast Council has received development application DA/891/2024 for alterations and additions to an existing dwelling at 66 Watkin Ave, Woy Woy.
According to the application prepared by Urban Consultants, the proposal is for a two-storey extension at the rear of an existing dwelling.
It would contain a master bedroom, ensuite, walk-in wardrobe and Juliet balcony at first floor level and relocation of the stairs.
The 547.2 square metre site is zoned R2 (low density residential) and is on the south side of Watkin Ave.
The application states that: "View sharing is able to occur through site due to appropriate boundary setbacks.
"Windows within side elevations have been appropriately minimised and set back."
"The proposed development allows for 50 per cent of neighbouring dwelling's Private Open Space to receive at least three hours sunlight between 9am and 3pm on June 21, see shadow diagrams."
However, the shadow diagrams have not been included in the public exhibition.
The application concludes: "It is considered that the proposed alterations and additions will complement and blend with the existing and likely character of Woy Woy" and "is on balance worthy of approval".
The proposal is currently on public exhibition and open for written submissions.
However, the closing date for submissions has not been posted on the council website.
