Events committee to meet

The Pearl Beach Progress Association's events committee will meet from 10am to midday on Monday, February 1, at the Pearl Beach Community Memorial Hall in Diamond Rd.

The committee oversees income-generating events for the association, including regular food and wine festivals, Easter book fairs, showcase and scholarship concerts, Pearl Beach Glee Club concerts, Jazz in Arboretum, June long weekend concerts, and art and craft fairs.

It also coordinates community-building events, such as Australia Day and Anzac Day activities, and memorial services and farewells.

Social events are organised to encourage community involvement, fun and social interaction.

The committee aims to balance the need to raise funds and "the paramount objective to foster the community".

Its membership comprises a number of officers of the association and six general members.
