Cafe for people with dementia and their carers
The Rotary Club of Brisbane Water will start its cafe for people with dementia and their carers at 10am on February 8 at the Umina CWA hall.
Club president Mr Peter Mote said: "The cafe is designed to be a safe and welcoming social get-together where people with dementia can continue to be connected and engaged."
It would help "address the common feelings of isolation that are too often experienced as a result of a diagnosis of dementia," he said.
"Through the D Cafe, we endeavour to empower people living with dementia to regain their autonomy, boost their self esteem and improve their well being, while providing support to those in the caring role."
