Rotary club hears about Cambodian project

Members of the Rotary Club of Woy Woy have heard about the Rotary-led project Sustainable Cambodia at the club's first dinner meeting for the year.

"This Rotary led project empowers rural families by helping them create a sustainable quality of life," said club president Ms Joan Redmond.

"Village families build schools, install wells, learn alternative agriculture, and how to manage community projects.

"They then pass on the knowledge to help neighbouring villages."

The presentation was given by Kincumber Rotarian Ms Christine Owen who visited the project last February "along with Rotary volunteers from many different countries".

Ms Redmond said it was good "to hear about good things happening in the world - people working together to build better lives".
