Tree group urges: Plant the right tree in the right place

The Peninsula's Grow Urban Shade Trees group is encouraging residents to "plant the right tree in the right place".

Trees under powerlines "trimmed so brutally that they may not survive" was a "sight we hate", said group member Ms Jenny Wilder.

"We can have power lines and a tree that offers shade."

Species recommended by the group included dwarf apple gum, blueberry ash, golden penda, grevillea moonlight, dwarf flowering gum and water gum.
