Water patrols conduct compliance and breath tests
Patrols of the Ettalong Channel and Brisbane Water were conducted by NSW Maritime and Broken Bay water police over the weekend of January 16 and 17.
They were part of a wider operation that extended to Pittwater, Cowan Creek and up the Hawkesbury River to Wisemans Ferry and Windsor, named Operation Armada 2021.
Across the two days, over 500 random breath tests and 300 compliance inspections were conducted as well as a number of random drug tests.
The local water police were joined in the operation by Kuring Gai Police Area Command, Brisbane Water Police District, Northern Beaches Police Area Command, Hawkesbury Police Area Command, ant the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command.
Overall, police reported they were pleased with the behaviour and attitude displayed.
