Stuck possum is rescued
A possum that was stuck in a power pole cover on Veron Rd, Umina, on Sunday, January 18, has been rescued by a crew from Umina fire station.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Umina and Gosford fire stations were called to the scene with specialist rescue equipment after Wires wildlife rescue service reported a possum stuck deep inside the pole guard.
The rescuers were able to scare the possum so it escaped the guard on its own at around 11:10am.
The possum was passed to Wires for release back into the wild.
