Trawling line change sought

Hawkesbury (Broken Bay) Fishers have sought a change to the trawling line in Broken Bay.

This proposal would allow trawlers to work along the back of Pearl Beach, 250m from shore, then across to Little Box Head during the weekdays, 24 hours a day, throughout the year, public holidays excluded.

A management advisory committee for estuary prawn trawling in NSW will consider the matter as part of the NSW Fisheries consideration of the request.

A representative of the Recreational Fishing Alliance who is a member of the committee is seeking local views about the proposal.
