School opens to the public
Principal of Brisbane Water Secondary College, Mr Pat Lewis, has invited members of the public to visit the local high school for Public Education Day
Schools on the Peninsula will be among schools throughout the State that will celebrate the day on Thursday, May 20.
"As the providers of quality education for all, every school on the Peninsula is proud of the opportunities provided for students," Mr Lewis said.
"The college has a highly successful approach to education with a huge range of opportunities for all students," he said.
He said the college had become renowned on the Central Coast for its range of subjects and welfare-focussed approach.
"The college offers everything for Peninsula students.
"Where else can you take part in the farm activities or have access to over 45 subjects plus TAFE and university when you are in Year 11 or 12?
"We also provide learning opportunities for gifted and talented students, budding sports stars through the sports academy and musicals which are second to none", he said.
"The teaching of values is also high on the agenda, with students learning about the values of respect for others.
"Show your support for public education and pay a visit to your school and tell others about the wonderful things happening in your schools everyday," said Mr Lewis.
