Woy Woy Rd speed review

Gosford Council has asked its traffic committee to review its decision not to reduce the 60 km/h speed limit in Woy Woy Rd between Rawson Rd and the abattoir.

The Council had been told that the police had carried out "an enforcement" in this area, which resulted in the issuing of a small number of infringement notices.

The results indicated that the majority of drivers were adhering to the 60km/h speed limit, the council was told.

The committee recommended that the information provided by the Police Service be noted and no action be taken to reduce the speed limit on Woy Woy Rd between Rawson Rd and the abattoirs from 60km/h to 50km/h.

However, Cr Chris Holstein asked: "When did the enforcement of this area occur? It doesn't seem as if people are following it."

He called for the committee to review its decision.
