Screening visit to end

BreastScreen's mobile breast cancer screening van at Woy Woy will finish screening on the Peninsula on Friday, May 28.

The van is still taking bookings from women aged 50 to 69 years for free mammograms.

The van is situated in Chambers Place council carpark.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women with NSW women having a 1 in 11 risk of developing the disease in their lifetime, said BreastScreen publicity officer Ms Holly Dewar.

"We have had an extremely positive response to the mobile van at Woy Woy," she said.

"Women have found the local service convenient, and have been surprised at how comfortable and private the van is.

"It is also close to public transport and there is plenty of parking.

"The van offers the same technology and high quality specialised service we have at our other screening centres."

Bookings are essential and may be made by calling 4324 6722.
