At Anzac Day services
Brisbane Water Secondary College students participated in the recent Anzac Day services.
"The college was well represented at both the Woy Woy dawn service and the march and wreath laying during their school holidays," said principal Mr Pat Lewis.
"On return to school, students presented an outstanding and moving Anzac ceremony to their peers, teachers and guests," he said.
Students who belonged to community cadet units formed a catafalque party and carried the flags of the nation, state and defence forces to open the ceremony.
These students, Ben Cain, Cameron Black, Nigel Fairbairn, Robert Woodger, Nick Rauchenberger, Stephen Little and Kurt Cartwright dressed in full service uniform and formed a guard throughout the ceremony.
Megan Purcell read In Flanders Fields while Katie Wyman sang a rendition of the Eric Bogle song Green Fields of France to the musical accompaniment of Tyler Bennison, Jessica Birrell, Billy Burgess and Toby Priddle-Malm and there was a visual presentation from Daniel Stone.
"Finally, Alex Beaton, Max Harwood, Rebecca Gaston and Chris Blair spoke outstandingly," Mr Lewis said.
"As well as honouring the tradition of Anzac, these students again demonstrated the outstanding talent of Peninsula young people and the values which are being developed in them through the college," he said.
