Survey return success
Brisbane Water Secondary College recently participated in the Priority Schools Funding Program survey to try to gain entry to the program for the next four years.
Along with many schools across the country, if successful, the college will benefit from additional funding and staffing.
"With the help of a number of incentives for returning the forms, the college managed to attain a 98 per cent return rate giving us every chance of being included in the program," said principal Mr Pat Lewis.
" Kmart donated a Nintendo Gameboy console and RetraVision donated two digital cameras for a lucky draw of students who returned their forms.
"Lucky winners were Phoenix Chisolm of Year 7 for the Nintendo, and Jamie-Lee Rainbow (Umina campus) and Emma Duckworth (senior campus) for the digital cameras.
" Video Ezy and Cinema Paradiso donated video vouchers and movie tickets for the draw.
"The support of these four local businesses in the education of our young people of the Peninsula is very much appreciated," he said.
