Information about Umina creek

Ettymalong Creek Landcare will hold a community information meeting about the Umina creek and bushland reserve system at 2pm on Saturday, February 15.

"Many new people have moved into the area and are not aware of the extent of the creek system or of the current community activities in the area," said convenor, Ms Sue Ellis.

"We have been getting many enquiries from people about the history and maintenance of the creek system and so we have decided to hold a community meeting to try and reach as many residents as possible."

The meeting will provide some history about the area as well as information and a display about a range of environmental issues which impact on local creeks and reserves.

"Everyone is welcome," she said.

There will also be an opportunity for discussion about any issues affecting the area.

Information about native plants and weed species will be available on the day.

The meeting will be held at the Umina Tea Rooms, behind the Umina Library in Bullion St.
