Swans nominate for two grades
The Woy Woy Swans have nominated to play in reserve and under-18 grades in the 2003 Central Coast AFL Season which starts on April 5.
The Swans play in a league managed by the Black Diamond AFL.
This includes teams from the Central Coast and Newcastle, including Nelsons Bay.
The league has seven first grade teams, 11 reserve grade teams and eight under-18s nominated to play in the 2003 season.
The home ground for the Woy Woy Swans is Rogers Park in Ocean Beach Rd, Woy Woy, and the new clubhouse is being opened for public inspection.
The club is still in the process of appointing a coach, but registration and training are under way.
John Spillard has agreed to help run the training sessions.
A recruiting campaign has begun, with letterbox drops, banners and advertisements in the local papers.
Raffles are held to support the club at the Bayview Hotel at Woy Woy on Thursday and Friday nights and at the Woy Woy Bowling Club on Friday nights.
Anybody interested in positions within the club, for coaching or administrative roles or to play, should contact the Woy Woy Peninsula Swans AFC at PO Box 222, Woy Woy 2256, or phone 4342 8994.
