Town maintenance tender to be decided

Council will decide tonight (Tuesday) if ACS Pty Ltd will receive the tender for security and maintenance of Ettalong, Umina, and Woy Woy CBDs.

Tenders for closed on November 26 on a contract for a 12 month period, extendable by two further periods of 12 months subject to satisfactory performance and safety reviews.

The services to be provided under the contract include:

Paved area litter removal. * Paved area cleaning services. * Landscape materials maintenance services. * Street and park furniture, fixtures and fittings maintenance services. * Security services. * Toilets (litter only). Four tenders were received.

They were Pound Enterprises Pty Ltd Woy Woy, ACS Pty Ltd Erina, Gosford City Council Gosford, and NRG Security West Gosford.

A tender panel comprised of five representatives, three council officers, a member from the Gosford Chamber of Commerce, and a member from the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

The tenderers were assessed based on the criteria of assessment included in the

tender documents.

Management and staff resources. * Previous experience of a similar size and nature. * Competitive tender price. * References from customers that have, or are, currently using the services of the company. * Demonstrated performance in the area of occupational health and safety. The panel's report to council states: "The preferred tenderer based on this assessment was found to be ACS Pty Ltd which ranked highest in all non-price criteria.

"ACS Pty Ltd has vast experience in the provision of cleaning and maintenance services within CBD areas and have the appropriate cleaning equipment to meet the requirements of the tender.

"ACS Pty Ltd has successfully completed a three-year contract for the maintenance, security and safety services for Gosford CBD and has similar current contracts with Imperial Centre Gosford, Central Coast Leagues Club and Westfield Shoppingtown, Tuggerah.

"It is recommended that their tender be accepted."
