Kirsten wins Quest heat
Nine-year-old Kirsten-Brooke Beverley, from Ettalong, has won the 7-9 years age group in the Central Coast's heat of Model Quest 2001.
Model Quest is an annual event organised by the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children to raise money for deaf, blind and multi-handicapped children.
The catwalk competition was open to aspiring models in five age groups: 3-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-15 years and 16 years and over.
Entrants in the heat held at the Central Coast Leagues Club were judged on deportment, catwalk technique, presentation and style.
Appropriateness of dress for age was also considered.
The Model Quest provided the young models with the opportunity to experience modelling in front of an audience, with music, lights, a compere and the bustle and excitement of backstage.
Thirty eight heats of the Model Quest will be held throughout NSW and the ACT until September giving city, regional and country children the opportunity to participate.
At the grand final, a winner and runner-up will be selected in each age group.
Entrants are currently being accepted for Model Quest heats around NSW.
Model Quest will be held in North Sydney, Newcastle and Castle Hill during the coming months.
