Pharmacy accredited for care

Member for Peats Ms Marie Andrews has presented Mr Ian Radford of Radford’s Pharmacy at Umina with a Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s "Quality Care" accreditation certificate on May 17.

"This accreditation is a major achievement by Radford’s Pharmacy and all credit is due to Mr Radford and his dedicated staff," said Ms Andrews.

"The program is a Guild initiative, which demonstrates that the public is receiving the best possible quality of pharmacy services and health care advice.

"It also demonstrates the public benefit of the current pharmacy ownership arrangements at a time when legislation governing community pharmacy is being reviewed," she said.

Radford’s Pharmacy have their own registered nurse who specialises in home health care, home visits to measure and fit surgical stockings and demonstrating the of usage of health care equipment.

They also have three registered pharmacists for advice, qualified cosmetic consultants, photo lab operators, a large natural health care section and three qualified beauty therapists and beauty rooms.

Speaking at a morning tea hosted by Mr Radford, Marie Andrews said: "It is very reassuring to me as the Local Member to know that we have Radford’s Amcal Pharmacy within our community offering such a high standard of service.

"I wish to congratulate Mr Radford and his staff on receiving this accreditation."

Ms Andrews followed the presentation by having morning tea with local residents.
