Pairs semis marred by rain

The recent semi finals of the Woy Woy Bowling Club's pairs championship was marred by rain.

The results were Neil Williams-James Cook 38, Ron Folley-Ron Hurst 6, Gordon Craig-Sel Manuel 16, Les Maguire-Ray Wright 14.

The final was played in perfect weather with a large crowd in attendance.

Neil and James did not let the disappointment of their loss in the club fours championship final deter them.

Playing immaculate bowls they went straight to the front and were never headed.

The result was Neil Williams-James Cook 27, Gordon Craig-Sel Manuel 11.

Gordon and Sel were also runners-up in last year’s pairs championship.

The club major singles championship is nearing completion with those remaining being Lionel Ackling, Ken Young, Ralph Davis, Ian O’Reilly and Les Maguire.

Men's mufti jackpot triples are held Wednesday and Sunday mornings at 9am.

TAB operations will start at the club on June 25.
