Iris leads walk
Iris Quanchie led 11 members of the Central Coast National Parks Association on a walk from the parking area outside the Woy Woy tip gates.
They entered the Brisbane Water National Park via a break in the fence for bushwalkers.
After two kilometres along a fire trail, a sign showed the track to Rocky Ponds to the right.
The fire trail became a track as it dropped down to Rocky Ponds where there were cascades and waterfalls and clear rocky ponds.
A narrow track beside Rocky Ponds led to the lunch spot on a ridge overlooking views of Dangar Island and the Hawkesbury River.
The walk, including return, involved about four hours walking and a distance of 16.7kms.
