Audrey wins Singles

Audrey Tucker has again won the Everglades Country Club Major Singles Championship with the runner-up being Bev Archer.

The standard of bowls from each player was top class in breezy conditions.

Club member Josie Wheate was commended for confronting some boys who broke into a car in the car park on the club's Tuesday play day.

The boys were chased away but not before some property was taken.

The Central Coast District chose Everglades to play against the Nepean District on May 7.

More than 100 players were to compete including 11 from Everglades.

No sooner the visitors arrived than a deluge of rain fell and the game was washed out.

The club served up cakes and slices donated by the Lady Bowlers on Thursday, May 17, to go with the tea and coffee as part of "Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea" for cancer research, raising $437.

The Major Triples are almost completed with the Major Pairs starting on May 31. The annual meeting will be held today, June 12.
