Drug information expo planned
The Peninsula Community Drug Action Team is organising a Drug Information and Awareness Expo on Sunday, June 24, at the Umina Skate Park.
The expo, held as part of Drug Awareness Week, includes a number of events such as BMX riding demonstrations, bands, giveaways and community access to professional drug awareness information.
Various agencies will provide information at stalls from 10am to 2pm.
The Peninsula Drug Action Team is an initiative of the NSW Premier's Department Drug Action Strategy.
The week is being promoted by the Alcohol and Other Drugs Council of Australia to raise awareness of harm associated with the misuse of drugs, promote the work of alcohol and other drug prevention and treatment agencies and promote public debate about good practice strategies for reducing drug related harm.
For more information, call Sally Anderson-Day at Gosford Council on 4325 8374 or Anjali Boronowskis at the Premier's Department on 4337 2300.
