Awards for aboriginal achievement

Peninsula residents may nominate Aboriginal people for the Central Coast Koori Community Awards.

Nominations close on June 22.

Presentations will be made during NAIDOC Week which is being celebrated this year from July 8-15.

Awards will be made in the categories of community services and humanities, as well as for achievements in work, in art and culture, and in sport.

Three awards will be made in each category: adult female, adult male, and young person aged 14-21.

Local nominations resulted in several members of the Peninsula aboriginal community receiving awards last year.

Contact Shirley Hotchkiss at Gosford Council on 4325 8904 for information and nomination forms.
