'Impressive season' for Youth League side

Southern Spirit Cricket Club's Male Youth League team had an impressive season, finishing as minor premiers.

"We were favourites to beat Wyong and move into the grand final," said coach Chris Johnston.

"However Wyong had other ideas and our season came to an end after a loss in the semi final.

"It just goes to show that you can't take anything as a given in this game.

"We only lost one game during the regular season and all players stood up at different times to win us games.

"Brilliant bowling, fielding and batting was the norm for this team as they dominated their opposition regularly.

"At the end of the regular season, we had three batsmen in the top 10 run-getters and two bowlers in the top 10 wicket-takers for the competition.

"All in all we had a great season full of fun, laughs and some great cricket thrown in."
