Council threatens soccer club with fines over venue use
Umina United Soccer Club has been threatened with fines by Central Coast Council if it fails to observe new training venues allocated by the council.
Changes have been made by Central Coast Council, concerned there was too much wear and tear on McEvoy Oval last season.
Central Coast Council has told the club it will be conducting random checks to ensure that these training allocations are being adhered to, and has threatened penalties for any breaches.
It has been told that disregarding the training schedule allocation may result in the club losing access to McEvoy Oval permanently.
Training for U5 to U11 teams will now be at Rogers Park AFL field on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The U12+ teams will train at Umina Oval on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Junior teams will finish training by 7pm.
Lights will be available from this week.
The home game day venues will remain the same as last season.
For U5-U11 teams, home games are played at McEvoy Oval.
For U12+ teams, home games are played at Umina Oval
The club has asked its 12s-16s teams training at Umina Oval to be off the fields by 7pm to allow the grade squads and other senior teams adequate space to train.
It also asked teams to be mindful of training in the goal mouths, which wear quickly.
"It is not appropriate to conduct entire training sessions in this space.
"It is also important to be mindful of others and share this space equitably so that all our teams have the opportunity to run occasional drills in the goal mouth areas."
