CWA bakes vegan scones for festival

Vegan scones baked by members of the Woy Woy branch of the Country Women's Association will be available in the 2019 Alive Festival taking place in Kibble Park, Gosford, on March 30.

The festival is held annually to celebrate the region's vegan and earth friendly vendors, artisans and makers and this year the Woy Woy branch will be participating for the first time.

Branch members challenged themselves to develop the perfect vegan scone and after months of preparation members have perfected their recipe.

"After a couple of months of testing and tasting we have finally perfected our vegan scones," said branch publicity officer Ms Emily Bowtell.

"Our plant-based scones will make their debut at the Alive Festival and we cannot wait to share them," she said.

Along with their scones, the branch will be debuting a range of vegan jams and eco-friendly handicrafts.
