New playground for Empire Bay
A grant of $150,000 has been announced to create a new playground at Shelly Beach Rd, Empire Bay.
"A Stronger Communities Fund grant for Central Coast Council will provide 50 per cent of the project cost," Member for Terrigal Mr Adam Crouch said on March 8.
"This project will be designed in collaboration with local students in the Empire Bay community, the key beneficiaries of this infrastructure," he said.
Empire Bay Progress Association president Ms Carolen Barripp said the news was most welcome.
"In consultation with the community, we are considering a pump track for young kids, inclusive play space, swings for disabled children and an adult exercise area.
"It will be a wonderful addition for the Empire Bay community," she said.
