Community fair held at Phegans Bay

The Bays Community Fair was held along the Phegans Bay Waterfront Reserve on March 10.

Group president Ms Cathy Gleeson said it was one of the most successful events yet.

"Our Bays Fair was another successful fun day enjoyed by many of the Bays community," Ms Gleeson said.

"It was great to see so many new young families enjoying the spectacular sunshine.

"This year we introduced a new event, the dog show.

"It was a fantastic addition to the fair.

"We certainly had a varied field of entrants over the seven categories, and I am sure it will be an even bigger drawcard at next year's fair," Ms Gleeson said.

"The variety and quantities of donations to the cake and plant stall were amazing, and they proved popular with fair-goers.

"Jill Napier and her team did an amazing job coordinating all the behind the scenes tasks and events for the day.

"Another successful idea that has come to fruition following on from our first Bays Fair last year is the Bays Bushcare Group which will begin in Phegan's Bay in April.

"This group has come about after successful communications with Central Coast Council bushcare officer Ms Anna Deegan and bushcare group member Jill Napier.

Bays residents interested in joining the bushcare group may contact the Bays Community Group for more information.
