Ettalong to get recycling bins

Ettalong is expected to get recycling bins in its main street in the next round of council's bin renewal program, scheduled before the end of June.

Umina recently saw the introduction of recycling bins in West St, as part of the initial rollout of 200 waste and recycling stations for 2018/19 financial year.

Council's quarterly report tabled at the February 25 meeting showed that 2200 public places litter and recycle bins dot the coast.

Each one is on a scheduled service with high impact areas and tourist hotspot bins emptied multiple times per week.

The report said the program of upgrading public place waste stations was progressing well.
