Artist holds exhibition in Botanic Garden
Pearl Beach artist Ms Marijke Greenway will hold an exhibition in the Sydney Royal Botanic Garden in April.
Ms Greenway's latest exhibition is entitled Tree Whispering and will be shown in Palm House on the grounds of the garden.
The exhibition will feature more than 60 paintings of trees, one of Ms Greenway's favourite subjects.
Ms Greenway is a plein air artist and said she had long been inspired by the landscapes and native trees of Pearl Beach.
"I pluck the native trees out of my Pearl Beach environment and transfer them to my canvas.
"I feel that my name is Greenway not just by chance.
"I was destined to be a painter of nature or a horticulturist.
"I think I am a mix of both," Ms Greenway said.
Tree Whispering will open on April 1 and will run daily from 10am to 4pm until April 19.
Entry is free.
