Regeneration for Bouddi

Bouddi National Park will be seeing some new developments over the coming months.

Ms Deb Holloman has been appointed temporary bush regeneration coordinator for Bouddi National Park.

Ms Holloman has undertaken regeneration projects with other volunteer groups such as at Fletchers Glen.

Regular weeding by staff and volunteers has been done at MacMasters, Maitland Bay, Putty, Tallow and Lobster Beaches and weeds at Maitland Bay Catchment will be under attack during April.

The damaging Bitou Bush will be attacked by a biological control, the Tortrix Moth, released by the National Parks Service, CSIRO, NSW Agriculture and Wollongong Uni.

A joint fox control program is proposed and is under development

In the Daleys Point-Rocky Point area, access cable fencing, gates and signage at the track near Wards Hill will be completed during May.

Hazard reduction burns will be conducted on the Bouddi Peninsula during the off season at various sites.
