Mayor elected

Gosford Council has elected Cr Malcolm Brooks to be the new mayor.

Cr Malcolm Brooks from the Liberal Party, Cr Laurie Maher from Central Coast First and Cr Chris Holstein Independent all ran for the position of mayor on Monday, April 19.

Cr Chris Holstein did not receive enough votes in the first round and was knocked out.

In the next round, voting was even between Cr Brooks and Cr Maher, Cr Brooks won after his name was pulled out of a hat.

He will only be mayor for six months.
