School seeks sponsorship

Ettalong Public School is seeking sponsorship for its entry in the National Junior Rock Eisteddfod Challenge.

The event, which the school is entering for the first time, encourages a healthy lifestyle and is aimed at reducing the growing issue of childhood obesity.

Involvement in the production provides students with increased opportunities to improve their communication, performance and teamwork skills, enhancing their self-confidence and sense of value.

"We have not taken our decision to participate lightly," said principal Mr Bruce Donaldson.

"We realise that it is a huge commitment of time, energy and finances; however we believe the benefits for our children will be life-long."

The school is seeking sponsorship from local businesses to assist in offsetting some of the anticipated costs.

Sponsors will have their name printed on the children's event shirts.
