Golf day for cancer unit

Everglades Country Club's Women Charity Day golfing tournament and raffle, held on Wednesday April 18, has raised thousands of dollars for the cancer unit at Gosford Hospital.

The tournament was run in ideal conditions with 130 men and 56 women taking part.

"The highlight of the day for Judy Costelloe was a hole-in-one on the eighth hole," said publicity officer Jan Henry.

Faye Spence was the winner of the women's first division with 40 points and Lorna Tracey won the second division with 39 points.

Sharon Smith won first prize for the raffle with Jenny Murray coming second and Heather Burrett coming third.
