Men's team defeat women

Everglades Country Club held its annual Men versus Women golf tournament on April 4

The men's team defeated the women's team 463-448 points and winning seven matches to four with one game tied on a match play basis

There were 12 pairs per side involved in the game.

"Despite the Ladies' captain issuing instructions to the green keeper to move her team's tee well forward, the men triumphed once more" said men's golf president Ian Elliott.

"The tee on the second hole was so far forward that many of the ladies found themselves too close on the second shot and got themselves into all sorts of trouble.

The day's weather did not affect the day's events.

"The day dawned wet but cleared up as the morning progressed and those who played later in the field enjoyed fine weather all day,'" he said.

After the tournament 56 players and guests enjoyed a meal from Simon's kitchen.

The club's next meeting is the Captains versus Presidents day later in the year.
