Ron keeps on winning

Peninsula pastry cook Ron Bruns has taken out the Most Successful Exhibitor in pastries at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show.

He took out 13 medals for all of his 13 entries.

Ron is proprietor of Bremen Patisserie, Umina.

Bremen is a traditional German city near the Danish border, where Ron and wife were born.

Ron and Helga Bruns have run their shop in Umina for over 12 years and are "really proud to be able to represent the Peninsula at a national level".

In 2002, Mr Bruns received six gold medals for six pies entered in the Queensland Gourmet Pie Competition and two gold, five silver and four bronze at the Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition.

The Melbourne Fine Food Show led to Ron receiving the Precedent Small Business Awards Champion of Champions Trophy in the bakery-cake store category.

He then followed that up in 2003 with two gold, 10 silver and four bronze at the Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition.
