Cr Bell said the government had agreed to bring forward funding for regional roads.following a meeting with the Minister for Roads, Mr Carl Scully, and further representations to the State Government in the last two weeks,

Cr Bell said he had asked Gosford Council's engineering director, Mr Stephen Glen, to prepare a report on regional road projects that could commence immediately.

Gosford Council has approximately 174km of regional roads.

Cr Bell said: "The Council will continue to make representations to the Minister to expand the pool of funds for regional roads so that the contribution per kilometre that Gosford receives is raised to the level enjoyed by Wyong."
