Kindergarten orientation held

Students enrolled for kindergarten at Woy Woy South Public School next year have completed the Leapfrog orientation program at the school.

The program was run over about five weeks with two groups attending morning sessions on Wednesdays or Fridays each week.

Prospective students for next year's kindergarten intake were involved in various in-class activities with this year's kindergarten teachers.

Parents and care givers were provided with talks covering literacy, numeracy, other key learning areas, canteen procedures and hands-on experience in using the canteen by the children, school policy, school crossing procedures and demonstration and several other topics of interest for parents.

Each session was provided drinks and snacks by the school P&C which also provided a uniform shop for early purchase and layby of school uniforms.

At the end of the program, confident youngsters, some already dressed in school uniform, accepted their "graduation" certificates from principal Mr Mick Tattam and deputy principal Ms Jo Booth.

This was followed by a small party for the children, parents and school community.
