Rugby club seeks sponsors

Woy Woy Rugby Club is seeking sponsorship for the 2004 season.

The club is offering local businesses the chance to buy sleeve sponsorship on one first grade jersey for next year.

The cost is $500 (GST inclusive).

The club is hoping to receive cash payment but there is an opportunity to give goods or vouchers to the value of the sponsorship.

The items would then be raffled off throughout the season

On each sleeve, the name of the business would be printed on a 80x80mm patch.

The businesses would be listed on signage displayed at home games, and the businesses would be advertised in the fortnightly newsletter.

At home games at Woy Woy oval, the names of businesses would be mentioned over the public address system throughout the game.

Sponsors would also be invited to a Sponsors Dinner before the start of the season, to be held at Woy Woy.

They would receive two tickets to each of the club's major functions: the sportsmen's dinner held mid-season and the presentation night.

The value of these tickets is normally $180.

"I hope people look at this proposal positively and get behind the Lions," first grade coach Ross Hopkins said.

"The Peninsula needs a strong Rugby Union Club and with support that dream will come alive.

"We have started training and look like we have recruited well, which all points towards one of our most successful seasons in years."
