The Umina resident placed fifth just 12 hours after his father, Mick Poole, was given a farewell from the sport at Gosford.

Umina Beach Rugby League Club's appeal to the Country Rugby League's boundary committee was cancelled by the CRL on legal advice.

The wording of the CRL constitution made it impossible for Umina Beach to appeal.

"Mrs Rose has volunteered 28 years of her life to Ettalong Beach Baptist Day Care, a service that provides weekly activities for the area's senior citizens," the Central Coast Express Advocate reported.

A police car was damaged in an accident near Woy Woy tip on Wednesday, December 3.

"The patrol car didn't take a corner and slid off the road and into a 2m ditch," the Central Coast Express Advocate reported.

Woy Woy Leagues Club and Club Umina are among clubs on the Central Coast collecting toys for the Smith Family's Giving Tree Appeal.

The clubs would like to collect 25, 000 gifts for children aged up to 12.

The reported that

A man recorded a blood alcohol reading of more than three times the legal limit after he crashed into the rear of another vehicle at Umina on Saturday, December 6.

The 20-year-old St Hubert's Island man was charged with drink driving, with a reading of 0.175 after police attended the accident at Barrenjoey Rd at 7:45pm.

Woy Woy police now know the author of letters sent by an airman to his mother during World War Two was Roy Joseph Langbein, who died in 1992.

However police said it was unclear whether Mrs Anthis was Mr Langbein's mother, or whether Mr Langbein's mother had passed the letters on to Mrs Anthis.

The tragedy of the death of Paul Blake, 47, of Woy Woy, has been compounded by the loss of family photographs he had.

"His sister Anne Jordison has since tried to find a box of sentimentally valuable photos given to Mr Blake by his mother before her death."

Two people have come forward with claims on the World War Two letters that were sold in a Woy Woy pub on Saturday, presumed to be written by Roy Joseph Langbein in Borneo in 1945

Robyn Langbein of Woy Woy believed that the author was her father's cousin, while David Anthes, of Sydney said the author could have been his estranged older brother, or possibly his uncle.

Woy Woy resident Ms Terry Fitzgerald has had difficulty getting authorities to take action after a truck hit power lines at her Woy Woy Rd home on Tuesday evening.

She said that Council, Energy Australia and the RTA appeared to duck and swerve on the issue.

"Smith was a member for 20 years and was heavily involved in the football and fishing clubs."
