Rugby League win to under-16s

The Brisbane Water Secondary Collage Woy Woy Senior Campus under 16 boys rugby league team has won the Central Coast All School Rugby League Knockout competition at the EDSAC Fields, Bateau Bay, on Thursday, July 24.

The team consisted of Dean Kerr, Michael Quirk, Daniel Fitzgerald (v-captain), John Crocker, Dean Robertson, Tim Bovis, Alex Brown, Chris Lloyd, Chris Hyde (captain), Dean Robertson, Adam Wysocki, Shane Lewis, Ben Verevakabau, Michael Smith, Andrew Trinder, Ryan Varley, Mark Quitadamo, Stephen Mohrenburger and Kyall Wallford.

The team was coached by Mr Cribb and was managed by a Mr Brooks.

The trainers were Daniel Nicholls, Michael Mohrenberger and Ivar Nelson.

The first match played against St Edwards was won by Woy Woy 10-4

With the score 0-0 well into the game, Daniel Fitzgerald took matters into his own hands to score the first try, followed by Michael Smith who raced down the sideline to score the second try.

The second game was played against Tuggerah Lakes and was won by Woy Woy 12-0 with Shane Lewis and Adam Wysocki leading the way by running up with the ball which resulted in two tries scored by Daniel Fitzgerald and conversions by Tim Bovis

The third game was against St Peters Collage and was won by Woy Woy 6-0.

Set moves between Alex Brown and Daniel Fitzgerald resulted in a try by Tim Bovis which put Woy Woy into the final

Game four was against Kincumber and was won by forfeit making the BWSC Woy Woy Under 16s boys rugby league team Central Coast Champions.

Best and fairest went to Daniel Fitzgerald 3 points, Chris Hyde and Ben Verevakabau, 2 points, Tim Bovis, Ryan Varley, Shane Lewis, Dean Robertson and Kyall Wallford 1 point.
