Ettalong was runner-up

Ettalong Public School Opens Rugby League team travelled to Morrie Breen Oval, Wyong, and was runner-up in its section of the Central Coast All Schools Rugby League Carnival on Friday, July 25.

The first game was against Northlakes with Ettalong winning a close game 10-0.

The boys then played Terrigal beating them 17-0.

They moved into the quarter finals where they played Valley View and, after some ferocious defence, Ettalong won the game 17-0.

In the semi finals meeting with Brisbania, Ettalong ran out convincing 12-3 victors.

In the grand final, out of 24 schools starting the competition, Toukley and Ettalong remained.

Toukley were the current favourites to win the Central Coast division of the Westmont Shield.

Ettalong started well with a length of the field run by Jacob Johnston.

Unfortunately that was about the last time the team had possession of the ball.

Toukley scored two dummy half tries and another good try to beat the boys from Ettalong 15-5.
